Die casting mould

Die casting mould

Die casting is the abbreviation of pressure casting. It is a method of obtaining a casting from a liquid or semi-liquid metal, filling a cavity of a die-casting mold at a high speed under high pressure, and rapidly solidifying under pressure. The die casting mold used is called a die casting mold.
The usual pressure for die casting is from a few megapascals to tens of megapascals, and the initial filling velocity is in the range of (0.5 to 70) m/s. Therefore, high pressure and high speed are important features of die casting.

The important role of die-casting molds in the die-casting production process is:
1 determines the accuracy of the shape and size of the casting;
2 The established gate system (especially the gate location) determines the filling condition of the molten metal;
3 The predetermined overflow system affects the filling conditions of the molten metal;
4 The strength of the mold limits the maximum pressure of the injection;
5 affect the efficiency of the operation;
6 control and regulate the heat balance of the die casting process;
7 the quality of the casting when it is taken out (such as deformation, etc.);
8 The quality of the mold forming surface affects both the quality of the casting and the coating cycle of the coating, and affects the ease of taking out the casting.
It can be seen that the shape and precision of the casting, the surface requirements and internal quality, and the smoothness of the production operation are often directly related to the design quality and manufacturing quality of the die-casting mold. More importantly, after the mold is designed and manufactured, the degree of modification can be small, and the relationship between the above effects and the quality of the casting is relatively fixed. This is why the design and manufacture of the mold must be based on the requirements of the die casting process. Therefore, to a certain extent, the die-casting mold and the die-casting process and the production operation have a special relationship that is extremely close and mutually restrictive and mutually influential. Among them, the design of the die-casting mold is essentially a comprehensive reflection of the various factors that may occur in the production process. Therefore, in the design process, it is necessary to analyze the structure of the casting, to familiarize with the operation process, to understand the possible degree of execution of the process parameters, to grasp the filling conditions under different conditions, and to take into account the effects on economic effects. A die-casting mold that is reasonable, practical and meets production requirements.
